Bangaley bags ‘Ambassador for Peace’ award
Kathmandu, September 12: The Universal peace Foundation has awarded Hari Prasad Adhikari (Bangaley) with ‘Ambassador for Peace’ on Monday in Kathmandu Nepal.
Bangaley, the executive director of Bhutanese Refugee Durable Solution Coordination Committee (BRDSCC) received the award amidst a special function at the Peace Embassy Building in Kathmandu.
The recognition as Ambassador for Peace is given to individuals who make profound contribution for the society, nation and international communities and the rank for the award includes from diplomats, clergy, civic leaders, human rights and political leaders and heads of state.
It is reportedly learnt that Bangaley was awarded for his contribution towards promoting and increasing awareness of the issue of exiled Bhutanese through peace initiatives over one and half decades. Bangale is also one of the Peace Marchers of the exiled Bhutanese to Bhutan in 1995 and 1996.
Meanwhile, in response to a query of the BNS, Bangaley said the recognition would help develop friendship, goodwill and cooperation, particularly at international arena in resolving the exiled Bhutanese issue. Bhutan News Service
