Yechury to visit Thimphu this month
Siliguri, September 12: The influential leader of India’s communist politics, Sita Ram Yechuri, has said he would travel to Thimphu at the end of this month.
According to the source, lobbying the Indian politicians in New Delhi, Yechury would talk with Bhutan authorities regarding repatriation of the exiled Bhutanese taking asylum in Nepal for the last 17 years after being evicted with military crush.
This is the first time that any Indian leader is traveling to Thimphu to talk about the issue. However, the response from the regime is expected to be negative or trying to influence Yechury against the fight for democracy and human rights initiated by southern Bhutanese.
Yechuri’s visit has been schedule d some time later Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressed his government’s willingness to extend solidarity to solve the issue of exiled Bhutanese.
In the mean time, reports from Nepal said Nepalese prime minister and foreign minister held discussion on the issue of exiled Bhutanese. However, the details have not been known.
Nepal planned a final round of talks with Bhutan before the third country settlement began. But Bhutan denied sitting for talks anymore. Bhutan News Service
