Kathmandu, January 14: The founder general secretary of Communist Party of Bhutan (CPB-MLM) Vikalpa, who was reportedly sacked from his party position recently, stated that the 'regressive elements' were active to bring split into party.

In a statement, Vikalpa has strongly accused Central Committee (CC) members John, Vikram and Sagar of trying to mislead public. The statement has further stated that these CC members had entered the party only in 2007.

"A faction of these three person has repeatedly hatched conspiracies against party and Bhutanese people", reads the statement, adding that they were earlier sacked from their party position from the 15th central committee meeting.

In response to the Birat-led faction's accusation of being Vikalpa as opportunist, he said Birat faction had misused party properties along with cash amount and were trying to foil revolutionary movement in Bhutan.

Earlier on January 3, in a statement, Birat, who claimed to be the new general secretary, said Vikalpa has been ousted seeing him an obstacle to the militant war. As the press statement terms Vikalpa as ‘so called general secretary’ the existence of the post and the person had been questioned.

The statement had said Vikalpa’s leadership demarcated ‘between those who go to the battlefield and those who send others' putting the friendly inner struggle towards rivalry in long run by the method of conspiracy and cliquey’ and flourished ‘hostility in the party faith and belief on the basis of nose (Aryan or Mongoloid)’.
