Scholarship for Bhutanese in Australia (Education)

Thimphu, June 12: The Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) and Queensland University of Technology (QUT) of Australia have signed an agreement to provide 30 scholarships to Bhutanese for Ph.D course in Australia.

An agreement to this effect was signed by the RCSC secretary Bap Kesang and the Director of South Asia of the Queensland University of Technology Dr. Sheel Nuna in Thimphu on Wednesday.

According to the agreement, about 20 to 30 Bhutanese will join the university for 2008-10 session. The university will waive off the tuition fees while the RCSC will bear the living allowance, return airfare and visa application fees.

Bhutanese will pursue Ph. D in Education, Applied Social Sciences, Law, Information Technology, Architecture and Engineering, Media and Television, Health Sciences and Business Management. Bhutan News Service
