Gang garoes hut of resettlement-favor family
Beldangi/Kathmandu, April 11: An unidentified gang of youths has attempted for physical attack on family members of Hari kafle in Beldangi-I, Sector C/2-126 yesterday night at around 11 pm local time citing the latter opted for the option of third country resettlement.
Krishna Maya, spouse of Hari Kafle, informed the BNS over telephone that the gang repeatedly threatened her to open the door after gheroing the hut.
Hari, who served as an assistant teacher inside the camp-based schools for seven years is now staying in Kathmandu for the purpose of his higher studies.
Hari also disclosed that his family was called for the first time at the Beldangi-based UNHCR office on June 2 for third country resettlement process.
Krishna Maya informed that one of the youths belonging to the group suddenly appeared at the courtyard of the house and inquired the reasons behind showing their interest towards resettlement.
“The group also asked why my husband was staying outside the camp”, said Krishna Maya, adding- “When one of the relatives from the attached hut tried to come out after knowing about the incident, the gang immediately fled from the scene”.
The camp secretary of Beldangi-I T. B. Gurung said that he has already asked Sector Head of Sector ‘C’ to manage for carrying continuous vigilance over possible incident. He also said that the issue was reported to the base camp of Armed Police Force situated near the camp.
Meanwhile, Kafle family has sought for their security inside the camps. “I make an appeal to the UNHCR, government of Nepal including other concerned authorities for the management of security of my family”, said Hari. Bhutan News Service
