New theater to ease film producers, viewers (Entertainment)
Thimphu, July 14: A new film hall in Thimphu, opened on Sunday, is expected to ease the film producers and viewers on Thimphu.
The 440-seat Trowa Theatre has been opened for public at Changjij screening of 'Singye Galem,' a film by Yeshey Tshering.
The hall is second in the capital after Lugar Theatre and eighth in the country. Lugar remains almost booked for the whole year.
Sherub Gyeltshen, General Secretary Motion Picture Association of Bhutan expressed hope that opening of new theatre will ease the problems of producers who had to wait in queue to get their film released.
Number of films being produced in the country is increased, highest in 2006 with 22 movies released.
The new movie hall has been equipped with modern facilities like air conditioner and coffee shops and is getting good response from the movie goers. Bhutan News Service
