WB for talks between government and democracy leaders
Siliguri, July 02: Chief Minister of the India’s West Bengal state Buddhadev Bhattacharjee instructed the security forces to remain at high alert to stop the possible entrance of the exiled Bhutanese into India.
In a function organized in the state’s business city Siliguri on Sunday, Bhattacharjee said his government would not allow passage to exiled Bhutanese to return home unless an understanding is reached between the government of Bhutan and the exiled Bhutanese ensuring that they be allowed to return.
At a time India had been saying that the issue was an international problem, the WB chief hinted at possible relation between the Bhutan government and its exiled citizens.
Earlier, a senior union minister had changed the stand of the Indian government to say that the issue was an international rather not between Nepal and Bhutan. Bhutan News Service/B. P. Kashyap
