Temple build-up to create sense of peace inside camps
Beldangi, February 11: Aimed at flourishing a sense of peace and tranquility among exiled Bhutanese amidst escalating violence, Saraswati Temple has been built-up with an estimated expenses amounting to 60, 000 Nepalese rupees in the premises of Marigold Academy in Beldangi-II extension.
Pandit Shiva Prasad Pokhrel, a Guru of Bhutanese royal family while inside the country, inaugurated the temple today amidst special function.
Social worker K.B. Khadka informed Bhutan News Service that an estimated 42, 000 Nepalese rupees was collected from donations both inside and outside camps while the remaining 18, 000 was in loss.
Khadka further urged interested individuals and groups to help compensate 18, 000 Nepalese rupees, now reportedly managed by staffs of the MGA school in Beldangi-II extension.
Khadka also informed that Global Academy, Model Higher Secondary School, Siddartha Boarding Higher Secondary School, Unique College, CARITAS – Nepal, and local businessmen were among the major donors to help set up the temple.
"Exiled Bhutanese children have begun forgetting their own culture. This is an initiative to bring awareness among children towards our long-preserved culture and tradition", said Khadka, adding that their initiative would also help discourage any violence in camps. Bhutan News Service
