Rizal asks exiled Bhutanese for patience
Damak, October 13: Human rights leader Tek Nath Rizal has urged the exiled Bhutanese community not to be divided merely with the offer by the US government to resettle over 60,000 of them.
He asked all to remain patient till the government of Nepal takes any decision over the matter.
In a statement issued after the meeting of Bhutanese Movement Steering Committee (BMSC) in Damak Thursday, Rizal has said since the Nepal and Bhutan governments are holding talks next month, we must remain calm till that time.
He said, "Nepal government has said that it would hold talks with Bhutan. Lets see the sresult. The UNHCR, the US government and the Nepal government can take decision regarding our future after that. Until that that it would be best to wait and see from our side than to fight each other."
He also said he would travel to Kathmandu on Friday and hold detailed meeting with the representatives of the Nepalese government regarding the issues for talks next month. Bhutan News Service
