Kathmandu, August 3 : The government of Nepal finally decided to issue entry visa to Ratan Gazmere and his wife Gauri Giri this evening.
“We got a letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs authorising us to issue their visas and they were immediately granted “, said an immigration official at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA).
According to immigration, they got entry visas at 3:30 pm Nepal Standard Time. This official also told that they were granted 30 days permit for staying in Nepal.
A police officer from Gausala Police Station where they are detained since two days told Bhutan News Service that they were taken to the TIA for receiving their visa documents.
“It is a good news that they are treated well”, said I.P. Adhikari, president of Association of Press Freedom Activists Bhutan, who was lobbying for their entry visas since their arrest.
Meanwhile, the veteran leader Tek Nath Rizal has expressed his gratitude to Nepali government for treating the Bhutanese citizens well besides the existing laws.
Earlier Rizal met the Home Minister and some potential leaders to consider their visas on humanitarian ground.
“veteran leader Tek Nath Rizal”
kind a funny ha………….
I guess we should say who ever Abinash is , a veteran leader , right?
Really, how did Rizal become a veteran leader? He is the seed of turmoil in Bhutan. If he had been the leader of the people, he would have fought for the cause of the people, but he tricked the people, reached Nepal in the pretext of medical treatment and security.Did he get treatment in Nepal where treatment facilities are not as good as in Bhutan? Ofcourse, he definitely got US dollars in Nepal. But how? Oh, it is through dharnas in the streets and in Bir Hospital. Have we ever seen such a veteran leader who goes suddenly sick, gobbles dollars through donation drive for treatment but the dollars got changed into bricks and cement for his building in Birta,Kaths and…?
And about his security concern? who the hell believes that his life would be secured in Nepal(if his life had been really at risk)where the security situation was/is the worst in south Asia than in Bhutan among his own people for whose sake he says he was fighting for.
See his statement and stance on Resettlement as well. Just to keep the refugees as hostage in refugee camps so as to let the dollars flow in as usual, he stood vertically against the resettlement package. He asserts that he is for repatriation of the refugees. Oh, he must realize that it is impossible. Still then, what he did he do during the two decade treacherous period? Ran only after dollars? Do Bhutanese folks know where his son is now? Yes, our veteran leader has already resettled his son in……country. Now tell me where is our veteran leader’s stance, vision and fulfilment of commitment. Why does he love to have his son change his life but not the sons and daughters of his fellow countrymen, do you know? Simple reason, he is selfish, lonely wants to be rich, lead life in luxury and comfort but we all know that a rich and a selfish man can’t be a leader of the poor refugees.
Therefore, Mr. veteran leader should allow the poor people to become rich so that he will be the leader of them(rich mass) in future. This means that there is still a chance for him to be a real veteran leader in future provided he urges the refugees to opt for resettlement prong.
To the end, no trick again veteran leader(s).
I agree with bhabisaya…Mr. Verteren you must run to solve innocent ppls problem linguishing in the camps for years instead of running after hard currencies..you always choose to keep yourself safe only..but do something good in life for the betterment of our ppl.. do you family started sending so called dollars from Canada.. do what you can and dont hurt others emotions with your buttery words..
