PM leaves to attend US session
Thimphu, September 17: The Prime Minister Jigmi Thinley flew to New York on Tuesday to attend the upcoming General Assembly of the United Nations, who will address the US session on September 26.
Cabinet ministers, senior government officials, army personnel, the Indian ambassador to Bhutan Sudhir Vyas, the UN Resident Representative Nicholas Rossellini and his relatives bid bye to Thinley at Paro airport.
Accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary Sherub Tenzin and other senior officials, Thinely will be joined by Foreign Minister Ugyen Tshering, chairperson of the Foreign Relations Committee of the National Assembly Karma Rangdol, and other delegates, who will leave Thursday, during the US session.
Thinley is scheduled to open an exhibition entitled Dragon’s Gift at the Rubin Museum of Arts in New York Thursday and address the media persons in that city on Gross National Happiness. Bhutan News Service
