NFD remembers martyr, accuses TCR (Politics)
Birtamod, May 30: National Front for Democracy (NFD) Bhutan, on May 28, remembered Saha Bahadur Sewa, an exiled martyr, shot dead by Indian security forces in Nepal-India border last year.
"Today, while we commemorate the event, we have also deeply mourned and paid special tribute to one of our martyrs, late Saha Bahadur Sewa, who succumbed to bullet injuries of the Indian security forces as they baton-charged and opened fire at the gathering in an attempt to disburse the peace march of the Bhutanese people", said NFD-Bhutan spokesperson Narad Adhikari in a press statement.
The statement, which accused resettlement program as unclear and conditional, however, failed to pressurize Indian government to pay compensation to martyr's family. Bhutan News Service
