National Judicial Council established
Thimphu, July 28: Continuing the process of establishing the institutions required from democratic functioning of the government, the royal government of Bhutan established the National Judicial Council on Friday.
Chief justice SOnam Tobgye, after the announcement of the formation, said the new judicial institution would help streamline judicial reforms, strengthen judiciary, and ensure effective and efficient delivery by the justice.
The council comprises five members from the high court, district court and dungkhag court. Sherab Gyaltshen, dragpon of the high court is the chairperson. The 86th session of the National Assembly had passed the judicial service act opening way for establishment of the council. Bhutan News Service
