Jhapa administration forms investigation team

Damak, May 28: The district administration in Jhapa has formed a team to investigate the incident that occurred in Beldangi camp on Sunday and Monday.

The meeting of the ruling eight parties held in Jhapa in the initiation of the district administration late Monday decided the formation of the investigation committee under the leadership of assistant Chief District Officer (CDO) Murari Prasad Poudel.

The team has one member each from United National High Commissioner for Refugee (UNHCR) office, Human Rights groups and two representatives from the exiled Bhutanese community.

Chief District Officer Jay Mukunda Khanal also assured to recommend for compensation to two deceased persons and that the Nepal government would provide free treatment to all those injured in the scuffle.

The team has been given 15 days to prepare the report and submit to the local authority. The meet has also decided to change the camp management committee of Beldangi II. Hari Bangale had been the camp secretary of the camp till now. Bhutan News Service
