IOM, UNHCR, WFP condemn IOM bus attack (Press Release)

Kathmandu, May 23: The International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the UN World Food Programme (WFP) have condemned the attack on the IOM bus on May 21, near Morang-based Sanischare camp.

 “IOM, UNHCR and WFP are deeply concerned as such incidents are an attack on the international community”, reads a joint statement. The agencies have called upon all concerned parties to immediately stop such violence.

The agencies have also warned that any further deterioration of the security situation could have a negative impact on their ability to deliver humanitarian assistance to the exiled Bhutanese in the camps. Bhutan News Service
