Interested to politics! Resign immediately

Thimphu, July 09: The Election Commission has asked the serving ministers and government employees to resign immediately from their positions if they wish to join the politics.

Chief election commissioner Kuenzang Wangdi said they expect the ministers and government employees interested to contesting the elections in 2008 to resign from service at the earliest.

The Chief Election Commissioner said it is important that government officials and ministers join the politics to contest the upper or lower house election to establish strong foundations for a democratic political system.

He asked the people to join politics fast and being begin the preparations necessary to contest the elections in earnest. Bhutan News Service
