Hindu offers puja to Durga in Thimphu
Thimphu, October 15: As part of the biggest Hindu festival Dashain, the Durga puja ceremony has started at PWD colony in Thimpbu on Friday.
Pandit Madhav Adhikari and Pandit Somnath Kafley, assisted by eight other Hindu priests, will recite Chandi, Yajur Veda and Bhagawat Puranas for peace and prosperity in the nation.
The offerings will end on Dashami with Tika received by youngster from their elders.
Durga Puja symbolizes the victory of good over evil.
Durga Puja is organized every year in Thimphu by the Durga Puja Organizing Committee, Thimphu, under the Department of Culture, Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs.
