Government revises advertisement strategy
Thimphu, June 27: A new government circular regarding procuring advertisement through competitive bidding in media has disregarded the earlier circular issued by the finance ministry.
Finance ministry earlier said that the print media should bid for the advertisement ensuring that it gets widest publicity. The ministry had also assured of government help for the media to flourish.
The new circular reads that, “The government agencies should be left to decide to whom to give the advertisement depending on the budget availability, the type of advertisement and the reach.”
However, it has made it mandatory for the media to disseminate the advertisement in both English and Dzongkha languages. Bhutan News Service
