Explosion injures a police officer in Samtse
Phuentsholing, March 21: A police officer has been injured by bomb explosion in Samtse on Thursday afternoon, while inspecting a site where another bomb had exploded earlier.
According to reports, a team of senior police officers, chief district officer and election observers had reached Belbotey village under Sibsu block for inspection.
The first bomb had exploded at around 1:00 pm.Similarly, a bomb exploded in Phuentsholing yesterday, near a patrol pump. One of several bomb explosions in the last few weeks had claimed a life in Dagana. The Bhutan police said it expects some more explosions with the approach of the lower house election.
United Revolutionary Front has owned responsibility for all the explosions, aimed at disrupting the polls. The government said, the elections will be held on the scheduled date despite attempts to scare the people from voting. Bhutan News Service
