Exiled Bhutanese sits at the middle of the Mechi Bridge
Kakarvitta, June 3: Exiled Bhutanese organised a massive rally and sit in protest at the eastern border of Nepal on June 2 calling on India to help them go home.
The programme organised jointly by Human Rights Organisation of Bhutan (HUROB) and Bhutan Gorkha National Liberation Front (BGNLF), saw the largest mass on Friday since such programme was initiated seven months ago.
The sit-in was held at the middle to the Mechi Bridge bringing the traffic between the tow countries completely to a halt for more than two hours. Thousands of Bhutanese have participated the protest.
Speaking on the occasion, president of BGNLF Tara Mukarung said Bhutanese have been forced to celebrate the enthronement day of the king Jigme Singye Wangchuk as the balck day in the history of Bhutan.
Chairman of HUROB S. B. Subba warned the Bhutanese rulers should take immediate steps before their movement goes beyond the control of the government. Bhutan News Service
