Exiled Bhutanese continue Satyagraha
Damak, October 03: More than 300 exiled Bhutanese staged the Satyagraha at Mechi Bridge on September 29, on the eve of Dashain festival, marking 45th Satyagraha program for repatriation.
As usual they also sent 160 post cards to the Prime Minister of India for help to resolve the problem.
As a gesture of solidarity from Indians, Shailendra Singh Arora, spokesperson of the Bhutan Solidarity Group in Varanasi, attended the program.
Addressing the gathering Arora said his group would strongly back the cause of the exiled Bhutanese and their demand for repatriation with safety and dignity to Bhutan under the banner of Gandhi's Satyagraha movement, which had forced British to quit India.
Leaders in exile Hari Prasad Adhikari, S.B.Subba, and Dr. DNS Dhakal were also present during the program. The urged the governments of India, Nepal and Bhutan to urgently address the issue of exiled Bhutanese. Bhutan News Service
