Employment opportunity function in Thimphu

Thimphu, May 05, 2009: Around 1,700 unemployed, young and old, participated the one-day employment promotion function held in Thimphu on Tuesday in their effort to sharpen their skills for employment.

Organized by Ministry of Labor and Human Resource, the function aimed at providing opportunities to unemployed people. The country has over 5 percent employed population. 

One of the ministry officials said such programs would help find job for people. Several employment fairs held in the city since last few years have failed to provide enough employment opportunities.
