DPT women take to demo
Thimphu, October 15: Despite the warning from the election commission the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa’s women sing organized a meeting in Thimphu on Saturday.
The party said the meeting intended to educate the women on democratic processes and free and fair election.
Around 250 women attended the meeting. The party had said its women wing will work to empower women and enable them to participate in the democratic process.
The group has announced to take up social issues like domestic violence, problems faced by single mothers, youth, and substances abuse as its agenda.
Earlier, the election commission has warned the parties not to form and carry out any activities in the name of sister organizations. Bhutan News Service
