DPT to make its cadres project implementers (Politics)

Thimphu, June 25: The ruling party Druk Phuensum Tshokpa (DPT) has planned to hand over responsibilities of development activities in the dzongkhag and geog level.

The party decision comes before the government plans to conduct local government elections by the end of this year where non-partisans are to be elected for carrying out the development activities.

The party is busy preparing details of the responsibilities to be conferred to the dzongkhag coordinators, constituency coordinators and gewog coordinators.

DPT has 20 dzongkhag coordinators, 47 constituency coordinators and 205 gewog coordinators, with estimated 6,000 members. Bhutan News Service
