BACC donates one hundred thousand to inferno-victims
Goldhap, March 8: Bhutanese American Community Center (BACC), which is based in California, has donated one hundred thousands Nepalese currency to inferno-victims in Goldhap camp today.
BACC representative Lalita Ghale and RN Acharya handed over the amount to the Field Director of Caritas Nepal, Fr. Verky amidst a function in Goldhap camp. The function was attended by the Project Director of AMDA, UNHCR representative Ramesh Karki, Chief of Armed Police Force in Goldhap camp Tika Ale and Vice-president of Bhutan People's Party Jagirman Lama among others.
Addressing the function, Fr. Verkey expressed happiness over receiving support from the BACC. He also said that the amount would be immediately used for buying dresses for students in Goldhap camp. Father Verky also disclosed that Caritas would also give Nepalese rupees 1500 to each inferno-victim teachers serving at different schools in Goldhap camp.
Vice-president of BPP Jagirman Lama expressed gratitude to BACC and Bhutan News Service (BNS) for their coordination during such an emergency.
