Kathmandu, January 20: Bhutan Press Union, Association of Press Freedom Activists and Third World Media Network- Bhutan Chapter have condemned Indian move to bar Indian lawmakers and journalists entering Nepal to visit exiled Bhutanese camps.

"India should respect the right to return of the exiled Bhutanese" said a joint statement issued by general secretaries of three press organizations operating in exile.

Meanwhile, Bhutanese Refugee Repatriation Programming Council issuing a press statement also condemned the barring of Indian MPs.

"India has shown atrocities by barring MPs who were on the way to camps to listen to what exiled Bhutanese are longing to share," said the release issued by council's president Bhakta Raj Giri.

Giri also has urged international community to create pressure on India to allow lawmakers to access the real situation in the camps. Bhutan News Service
