King Khesar arrives Thimphu (City)

Thimphu, November 03: After receiving dar from Je Khempo (head of the monastic body) at Machhen Lhakhang in Punakha, King Jime Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk has arrived Thimphu Sunday afternoon.

Hundreds of local residents in Thimphu queued up along the highway in Thimphu to welcome their fifth king, who received the symbolic power of kinghood from Buddhist priest in Punakha.

Royal family members joined to king to receive greetings from people. Senior officials welcomed him at the royal palace.
