Hurt local youth dies, torch vehicles
Sanischare, February 26: Local residents of Pathari in Morang district on Sunday torched a passenger bus and vandalised another microbus on the Mahendra Highway after a local youth, who was injured during the Friday police firing, died while undergoing treat at Dharan.
Locals also closed the Pathari bazaar to protest the death of Hari Tamang, 20, of Pathari, said inspector Rup Kumar Neupane at the Urlabari area police office (APO).
“The Mahendra Highway has been obstructed by the irate locals,” a local Raju Shrestha said adding demonstrators torched a passenger bus (Me 1 Kha 864) bound for Biratnagar from Kakarvitta of Jhapa and vandalised another microbus.
Meanwhile, Bhola Puranaghare, general secretary of Bhutan Press Union (BPU) informed BNS that the demand of locals to swift sanischare camp has heightened. "There is possibility of swifting this camp elsewhere" Puranaghare said. Bhutan News Service
