Guarantee media freedom: TWMN – Bhutan (Founding Day)
Kathmandu, September 16: The Bhutan Chapter of Third World Media Network has demanded the government of Bhutan to guarantee media freedom in the country.
Issuing a press statement on its founding day, TWMN – Bhutan Chapter has also expressed gratitude to the headquarters in Dhaka, Bangladesh for recognizing the efforts of exiled Bhutanese journalists.
“TWMN – Bhutan Chapter has not done much but it has been continuously voicing for the establishment of complete media freedom in Bhutan. On this special occasion, we vow to continue our fight for press freedom in this Himalayan kingdom”, reads the statement.
TWMN – Bhutan Chapter, founded in September 16, 2006, is the only media organization in exile which has been affiliated to international media body. Bhutan News Service
