Exiled Bhutanese squeezed within the camp
Sanischare, March 28: The meeting of the eight parties in Morang district held on March 28,took decision to restrict the movement of exiled Bhutanese refugees out of the Shanishchare camp after 5 p.m.
Before this, the Bhutanese were allowed to go out of the camp on the permission of camp officials.
Secretary at the camp Menuka Nepal said they signed an agreement to that effect.
The representatives from the local community, forest officials, political parties, organizations of the exiled Bhutaense and local administration had attended the eight party meeting. The decision comes into force from the same day.
Two persons died at the camp following a clash between the locals and exiled Bhutanese over the issue of timber smuggling a month ago. "The agreement was reached to stop further clashes," Nepal said.
The local people have stopped supply of timber following the clash. This has affected the cremation of those dying inside the camps. Bhutan News Service
