CPB-MLM denies hands in bombings

Kathmandu, January 22: Stating that the Royal Bhutan Police's claim of their party's involvement in serial bombings in Bhutan on Sunday was a conspiracy to defame party, Community Party of Bhutan (CPB-MLM) flatly denied to own up responsibility of the explosions.

Central Committee Member of CPB-MLM 'Milan' over a telephone conversation from undisclosed location termed the serial blasts as explosion of suppressed people's dissatisfaction towards absolute Druk monarch. "We don’t have any involvement in the incident", said Milan, adding that the regime's allegation was baseless.

Milan's reaction comes at a time when Bhutanese police authority claimed the involvement of CPB-MLM in the explosion.

Four blasts had taken place between 11.10 am and 2.10 pm in four different districts on Sunday, including one in the capital, Thimphu. Bhutan News Service
