Children’s deteriorating situation: Research
February 19, Kathmandu: A research report of about one month has revealed that the situation of children in camps is getting deteriorated.
According to Roz Evans, Doctoral Student at Refugee Studies Centre, Oxford University, who assisted the entire research program, members of Bhutanese Refugee Children Forum (BRCF) extended full support and physical participation while undergoing research.
Bhutanese children themselves have presented the research report at different places in Kathmandu with an aim of drawing attention of concerned authorities.
The research has covered issues related to school drop-outs, early marriage and domestic violence to children in camps.
“For a number of reasons, issues such as early marriage and domestic violence, which are negatively affecting children in camps, remain hidden” the conclusion of the research reads.
This is the first time that children themselves have shown their involvement while undergoing such research program. Bhutan News Service
