Beldangi, September 15: Issuing a press statement yesterday camp secretaries of three Beldangi camps have expressed deep concern over the delay in registering genuine Bhutanese citizens who have been staying in camps or outside without the 'refugee status'.
"We asked the Joint Verification Team (JVT) of Government of Nepal and the UN Refugee Agency to expedite the registration progress without giving mental torture to those citizens who should have their status recognized", said the issue.
Three camp secretaries have accused the JVT for not taking the registration process seriously and as expected.
"These people should have opportunity for both resettlement and repatriation", told the statement and has asked the concerned authority to take this issue seriously.
According to camp secretaries, over 2,000 Bhutanese are visiting office of the JVT for registration after they are asked to apply for the process early last month. Bhutan News Service
