Bhutanese mark refugee day ‘Black Day’
Kathmandu, June 20: The participants at the sit-in protest in front of UN office in Lalitpur marked 16th World Refugee Day as 'Black Day'. They observed it by lighting candles and have urged international community to help expedite repatriation.
Participants talking to Bhutan News Service said they don’t want to remain as refugees further.
Meanwhile, an appeal jointly issued by seven camp secretaries have issued an appeal urging the corcern agencies to takeup their issue seriously and help returning home at he earliest possible. They said ‘we do not want to be refugees any more’.
More then four dozens exiled Bhutanese are in sit-in protest in front of UN office from June 2. UN has not addressed their demands yet. Bhutan News Service/ Desvakta Mishra
