Security cover for MPs, others (Security)
Thimphu, January 16: The country has just over 12,000 security force, including the Royal Bhutan Army, but the government has agreed on providing security cover to all civil servants, members of parliament and business tycoons.
On January 12, the MPs from southern districts have demanded security cover for them during public function and movement in their districts, following the bomb attack by United Revolutionary Front of Bhutan in Sarpang
However, the National Council had asked the lower house not even to allow every ministers keep security pool at their residences, claiming it would reflect country has poor security environment. Currently, a minister is has security team of seven soldiers and two personal secretaries. Bhutan News Service
