BPP, BNDP condemn serial blasts
Kathmandu, January 23: Bhutan People’s Party (BPP) and Bhutan National Democratic Party (BNDP) have condemned the recent explosions that took place in four districts, owned by an unknown underground outfit.
In separate press statements, both BPP and BNDP said they are firm believer of peaceful struggle to establish inclusive democratic system of governance in the Kingdom of Bhutan.
"Our party strongly condemns the violence activities being undertaken in Bhutan under the pretext of just struggle," vice president of BNDP Dr D. N. S. Dhakal said adding, "Any violence movement will close up the doors for democratic openings and would threaten the very survival of a peaceful, democratic and independent Bhutan.
“We strongly condemn the violent activities in the name of people’s movement” read the release issued by BPP’s president Balaram Poudel.
They also called upon all stakeholders to restrain from resorting to violence and demanded that Bhutan government take appropriate steps to redress the genuine demands of the Bhutanese people including repatriation of the exiled Bhutanese to their homesteads in Bhutan with honor and dignity.
