Buddha’s day marked
Thimphu, May 20: Bhutan observed the Buddha parinirvana on Monday with a number of programs organized across the country.
The festival is regarded as most significant day to Buddhist since birth, death and enlightenment of Lord Buddha occurred on the same day.
The lamas organized special function in Punakha with prayers in Lhakangs and goenpas.
Bhutanese regard fourth month of every year to be pure and abstain from meat and alcohol. Bhutan News Service
