  4. Something needs to be rectified immediately in this news. I have spent most of the time with Tika dai and his family since the day of the accident. Here under is exactly what happened.

Tika Koiral 46, a Bhutanese refugee resettled during last June in Nashville, Tennessee was pronounced dead fifteen minutes after the family gave the consent to remove his life support at Vanderbilt Medical Center on 29th December 2009. Koirala was admitted to Trauma unit following a fatal car crash on 25th December 2009.

A Toyota Camry driven by Moni Rai, that carried three passengers including Koirala was hit by another car speeding from the opposite direction; heading towards I-24 at Haywood Lane. The other car was driven by an unidentified drunken illegal immigrant, according to the investigating police officer, Herald Burke. The officer further said that the faulty driver is either at the hospital or in jail, watched by another police officer. The three Bhutanese and an Iranian who were involved in the accident were getting back home from their night shift work at Gaylord Opryland hotel. Minorly injured trio were discharged the same day from Southern Hills Medical Center after necessary treatment.

The funeral is scheduled for 2nd January 2010, Saturday at Marshall Donnelly Comp Funeral Home. Catholic Charities, the resettlement agency helped with the funeral arrangements is further helping to smoothen the upcoming situation of the bereaved family. The funeral home helped by considering the case as exceptional for this refugee family. Gaylord Opryland, Tika’s employer has offered a job to Tika’s wife and is further helping to its best. Many individual volunteers are working hard to help the family at this tragic point. Bhutanes Community of Tennessee is highly thankful to all these supporting agencies and individuals.
