A Bhutanese doctor commits suicide in Thailand
New Delhi, May 31: A Bhutanese studying masters degree in dentistry in Thailand jumped off from sixth floor balcony of her apartment to death in Soi Rang Nam in Ratchathewi district on Thursday, Thai news reports say.
Police, who arrived at midnight, said Devyka Lana, 40s, committed suicide. The dead body was found lying face down, wearing pyjamas. Three cuts were found to her right wrist with two cuts to her left wrist.
She was second year masters student at Mahidol University's dentistry faculty. She worked as an intern at the Children's Hospital.
She was one of 10 medical students from Bhutan in Thailand. Her husband, a doctor in Bhutan, had just visited her and left for Sri Lanka that morning, reports say.
Police found a fruit knife, a pool of blood on her bed and a blood-stained pillow in her room.
On her suicide note, she mentioned: ''I'm Dr Devyka Lana, I'm committing suicide of my own. I have problem to everyone. I'm very sorry. Dr Devyka Lana.'' Bhutan News Service
