November 04 2009: Bhutan is a Buddhist kingdom. Buddhism teaches fraternity, brotherhood, humanity and love. However, for Buddhist rulers of this tiny kingdom, all these features of the Buddhism are for a show. Inhumanity, hatred and cruelty are passion.

The third book of human rights activist Tek Nath Rizal ‘Torture Killing Me Softly’ made public in Kathmandu on Tuesday speaks all these. It is a horrific story all about mind control device being used precisely in Bhutanese jail in an effort to change his mind and accept allegations clamp on him.
Chairman of the Nepal’s Constituent Assembly Subash Nembang unveiled the book amidst a function. Nembang, addressing the function, said this testimony would be an eye opener for everyone to know how people are being treated in the [Bhutanese] jails.
Nepal’s constituent assembly member Indrajit Rai, who is also a military expert, expressed astonishment how Rizal managed to live even under the mind control devices. He explained how such devices are used by the military rulers to extract or compel the prisoners to confess the allegations.
According to him, the devices produce waves that can be directed to a particular person even in a group. He said the device even can make people think of killing his/her own relatives, wish for suicide or make mentally unstable.
Writer Rizal expressed hope his book would reality of how prisoners are treated in Bhutanese jails. He recalled the days in jails when he was unable to tell details of his tortures to international visitors due to mind control devices.
Noted Indian journalist Ananda Swaroop Verma said it was shame for his country, which claims to be the largest democracy in world, to continue protecting a ruthless ruler ignoring the democratic fighters of Bhutan. He warned of dire consequences in the region if young Bhutanese refugees, who have been fade up seeking justice through peaceful means, turn violent and take up arms.
Academician Mohan Lohani and human rights activist, who was denied visa to Bhutan to attend democracy conference despite earlier invitation Subodh Pyakural, said the book would make those who have been praising Bhutanese ruler for his new theory Gross National Happiness realize existence of humanity in Bhutanese hearts.
Pyakurel said the book reveals a horrific story on the extent to which Bhutanese rulers have reached in treating a human being. “The tactics are beyond what human being can imagine,” he said.
first those who supports that lunatic Razel must chck the facts. Every fantic criminalistic writer can conjure the fact. it is possible that he committed crime to go to jail, misbehave in the jail so that punishment meted out to be considered as inhuman torture and write fucking bookd to get food for himself.
every country has law for criminal. Even US, the so-called most liberal country had Gutenmo prison for terrorist elements like you. Prisoners are animals who have harmed others and doesn’t fit in society. Did writer expect policmen to worship him.to maintain peace in the country, punishment is neceesary. As for nepal, i am happy that fomer terrosist who killed many people are accepted as political parties. ubfortunately, we don’t have opportunistic heart like nepalis people and heart to face chaos like in your country.
Human activist Mohan Lahini is just playing reactionary games because he was denied in bhutan. do you expect us to let every people in the country?
as for journalist Anand Swoorop Verma, do you know that main miscreants actually were not those suffering refugees but your people from Darjeeling, Sikkim and north indians who instigated them.Perhaps, you should ddo your homework and i know your journalist brain will want to explain why most of them couldn’t explain nd prove they are bhutanese.
as for refugees, i wilp be happy if bhutan government accept back. afterall, we are brothers. But we need some ways to select true bhutanese not some opportunists. And for reminder, have you ever seen people ccepted just because you tried to bite their hands?
Mr.Verma rightly said ” it was shame for his country, which claims to be the largest democracy in world, to continue protecting a ruthless ruler ignoring the democratic fighters of Bhutan.”.This is because junk part of Bhutan is engulfed by India and pays annual compensation in every January 10 in every year.It is the govt of India who instigated and sponsed boys from Bhutan to fight against the Government of Bhutan to balance the power to ULFA ,sponsered by the then Govt.of Bhutan. Now It is right time dear blood brothers to THINK what we need to do.We can heel the wound of martyrs ,pain of one who got torture from barbaric authority and tears of sufferes by ….. ? It a big Home work ahead of us.Rizal must now stand fircesely not as before thinking of many wives and sending childern to third country settlement.Other wise stop reminding cured wounds of the sufferer.
Bhumiputra.
Good leaders start with writing many articles regarding their phylosophies and target to bring down the goverment; and express their views when needed by the people.
But, this is a fact that the failure leaders try to narrate what others can’t believe or the goverment has not imagined, that is what Bhutanese leader Tek nath Rizal is trying because he is scared of his political future, and knows his dying political ambitions so he wants to be known as a writer, but nobody belive he is penning his books.
Now he started writing about mind control devices tortured in prison. Why? many Bhutanse close to him know very well, how he speaks? What he speaks? What about his political knowledge? How he tries to narrate the political road map of Bhutan? and so on…….
Bhutanese, those who are in Bhutan and in exile will hear one day that I am still in mind control device because he use to speak without thinking what the reaction is. So, please anybody close to him; suggest him to think twice before speaking; no more mind control device otherwise everybody will laugh at him.
Readers may think that I am a supporter of the Bhutanese Goverment but it is not the fact I am only a person who spent many years with him and closely observed as he is the FIRST Human Right Activist of Bhutan.
Comments are welcome.

Wow..reading his booklet ” Khoi Hamro Adhikar” and following his words in late 1980 made our 100,000 innocent fellow Bhutanese homeless for two decade..I dont know what this issue will make us.. maybe homeless for ever..friend I would rather advice not to buy any of his editions and see how he expand his properties in Jhapa..Tashideleg
