Damak, August 26: Police arrested Prem Bista of Beldangi-I camp, Sector A-1/82 along with a local resident, Bibek Limbu, of Damak-3 for counterfeiting Nepali 1000 rupee note.

Damak police in Jhapa district made the duo public yesterday with a pistol, bullets, knife and some counterfeit notes.
Police arrested them from a hotel at Damak after following information provided by a local of Butabari in Jhapa where they were able to use some forged notes.
The police also apprehended a local car owned by Chandra Thapa. They used the car for their counterfeit business, according to police Inspector Nabin Karki.
Karki also informed that the masterminds of counterfeit business, Ashok Rai and Buddhi Kerong, have been at large.
Both Bista and Limbu admitted that such fake notes are printed at Siliguri. They purchase such notes from there and spread to various places in Nepal, according to Inspector Karki.
Armed Police Force deployed in camps has cautioned exiled Bhutanese regarding note counterfeiting during the upcoming Dashara and Tihar festivals.

It is indeed so disheartening to see our youths involved in crimes. May be it is due to the poor living conditions of camps that they are into such easy money making spree.
What we need this time is some kind of awareness campign. May that would help. Our youths do not know that they have been used as frontrunners into such crimes by local/indian people.
Things don’t change, unless mind are changed.
The defulters seriuosly needs severe penalty. They create ugly image of Bhutanese living at camps. Somebody do something.
It is a sad story. I agree with the above coment that we need more awareness.
Punishing the mule is not the answer. If the authorities can they should hunt the mastermind and punish.
By punishing the youth above and torturing will not improve his life neither prevent him from taking part in future in such activities.
The best option is education, relocation or rehabilitation or TCS ASAP if we are serious about such cases.

This bastards should have thought of resettlements then to enter in to petty crimes like this….This is not in the blood of Bhutanese Lotshampa….few make image bad…we hope those settled out side will prove that we are hard working and want to develop if given oppurtunities.
Oops……..!
This is yet another gang doing illigal business with vested interests in the camps, looting hard earned /saved money for the upcoming festivals by innocent folks. There are people who USE,MISUSE and ABUSE the potential of innocent youths in the camps for meeting their narrow interests. On the other hand Law enforcement agencies are politically motivated and hence overlook these deadly crimes for the sake getting prety commissions. These businesses are run by high level people who enjoy sophisticated lives victimising the young and uneducated lots.Else how can one refugee who has hardly seen a computer and other modern gadgets mkke counterfiet notes??Definetly crime is a crime and the wrongdoer should be punished at the same time the invistating authorities must get hold of the main person doing such business and book and take toughest possible actions as per the law.
And bhotangay youths if you want to make money and become rich soon apply for THIRD COUNTRY RESETTLEMENT now and learn to work rather loot.
If you are smart enough to work you make money .Definetly when you work irrespective of the nature you earn more and finally it helps to build good image of BHUTANESE REFUGEES elsewhere.
Dont be DHUPOURAYS for the self proclaimed leaders they will dump you and never expect you to grow.
