Adelaide , August 22. The Bhutanese Community resettled at Adelaide in Australia celebrated Teej Festival along with various cultural programmes here yesterday.

The program was organized at Coglin Community Hall in the city and was attended by more than a hundred participants, mostly female. Meanwhile, traditional Nepali stuff (Dhakane) was served. The participants entertained themselves by singing Sangini, the famous folk song through which a married daughter would express her suffering while at her husband’s house to her parents. Prayers and dances were other attractions of the program.

Ms. Cynthia, one of the managers of Migrant Resource Centre of South Australia and guest of the celebration hailed the beauty of rich culture that Bhutanese had carried along. “The programmes as this would make you feel like living in your own cultural environment,’ she said.
Each adult participant contibuted five dollars for the programe expenses
