One shot dead in Beldangi I (Breaking News)

Breaking News Beldangi-I, April 21: An unidentified gunman fired four rounds of bullets and killed Shanti Ram Nepal, 56, of Beldangi-I camp, B-2/155 around 8:45 PM today.

Both, the camp secretary TB Gurung and the camp-based Armed Police Force (APF) confirmed the casualty this evening.

“There is no security for refugees in camps”, said Gurung, who accompanied Nepal’s wife and daughter as they were rushed to AMDA-Hospital.

According to the hospital source they have lost their consciousness as they could not tolerate the shooting.

Our correspondent Arjun Pradhan reported that the APF arrested two girls from the same camp for investigation.

The dead body is kept at the APF camp in Beldangi-I.

It is a socking news to the refugees living in refugee camps and those who are resetteled in third country.Most of relatives of ressettled people are still living in camps.It shows that there is no security in refugee camps .The situation was not good before also but is shows that situation is get wrose . This incident shows that as resettlement progress the sicurity situation in camps become frezile.

  8. I am very sorrowful to learn about Shanti Ram Nepals death. This incident is a question for Nepalese Government that how much secured are Bhutanese refugee in Nepal. Nepalese Government must take initiatives soon to evaluate this case.

    I too pray to almighty god that Nepals soul may remain peace in heaven.

  13. it was a really bad new for Bhutanese.the camps’ peace is increasing day by day.it make really bad for country lovely person.everyone know that its really bad situation but than also why people going to that.nobody get profit from killing person.if we see our camp situation from top its very security to stay there.
    if thats going happen again no one want to be return to our mother land.

    This is the most coward deed that ever saw in Bhutanese Community.Bhuwan, this is me your friend currently in USA.I’m so sad to hear this shocking news.
    The government should take initiatives to find the culprit and punish him/her.
    UNCHR must give proper security to rest of Nepal’s family.They should be taken hell out of the camp as soon as possible.
    UNCHR might learn how secure are Bhutanese people are there in camp.

    every bhutanese. People who lives in refugee camps has insecure life, it is better to choose third country resettlement for their secure life.
