Building village-camp relations
Beldangi, March 26, 2009: Representatives from exiled Bhutanese community living in UNHCR administered camps in Beldangi and local residents have started building measure to warm up relations.
In an interaction organized in Beldangi Thursday, the speakers stressed the need for ending past hostilities and easing tension to establish durable friendly relations between the two communities.
Speaking on the occasion, chairman of the Village Camp Peace Committee said the joint efforts and friendly relations can help solve a number of problems seen in both the sides. He said they plan to work together in areas such as maintaining cleanliness, forestry and other community issue in future.
Similarly, Father Peter from Caritas Nepal in Damak said involvement of youths would help solve the problems amicably and effectively.
Netra Subedi of Lutheran World Federation,, Bishnu Thapa of Beldangi II and Rup Narayan Koirala of Peace Building Committee among others spoke in favor to build relations between the two communities.
