DHI partners with EU Software Company
December 28, 2009: Druk Holding and Investment (DHI) has entered into partnership with the SAP, largest software company in Europe, to meet the DHI objective of streamlining the target of providing electricity for all by 2013 and to strengthen administrative and management procedures.
The DHI will use SAP software in member companies like Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) and the Bhutan Power Corporation (BPC) across their national power generation amenities. The use of SAP solutions is expected to reduce costs and enhance operational management.
The SAP solution implementation will refine the management services providing real-time information, consolidated accounts and centralized billing enabling payment of bills independent of customers’ location.
SAP solution is key to address the challenges in managing the over 10,000MW that government plans to produce by 2020. Through the partnership, DHI also targets to train Bhutanese manpower in IT sector with international employment opportunities.
SAP was founded in 1972 System Analysis and Program Development by five former IBM engineers and was later renamed as Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing.
