Overseas diplomat returns to join politics
Thimphu, May 05: As the newly established parties find difficulties to get enough leaders interested in politics and are graduate to contest the upcoming election, diplomats oversees begun to flown back to join the politics.
The latest instance is Bhutan mission chief in Dhaka Jigme Tshultim who has resigned fro his position to join the Bhutan People United Party (BPUP). The party initiators had earlier approached him for joining the politics.
Jigme would probably be the contestant for Radhi-Sakteng in Trashigang.
However, his resignation is yet to be approved.
He was also acting as Bhutan's non-resident ambassador to Pakistan, Maldives, Sri Lanka and South Korea.
BPUP most consists of the serving chimis and Royal Advisory Councilors. Bhutan News Service
