Kathmandu, May 12: Parang Kush Pyakural, 22, a temporary resident of Beldangi – II, Sector A/2 – 22/23 has appealed for financial aid to undergo valvular replacement at Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre in Kathmandu.

According to Dharani Dhar Pyakurel, brother of Parang Kush, they have been facing financial hardship to manage the expenses to replace the valve as diagnosed by the senior medical doctor at the centre.

Talking to the BNS, sources from the Pyakurel family has appealed organizations in exile, aid agencies concerned, exiled Bhutanese living overseas, well-wishers and individuals to extend possible financial support to undergo valve replacement.

Pyakurel family also informed the BNS that they have managed at least Nepalese currency 80,000 from different organizations and individuals from Nepal and India.

Doctors at the heart centre say the replacement would be possible only when Pyakurel family manages at least Nepalese currency 1, 50,000.

It is reportedly learnt that despite Pyakurel’s repeated appeals, the aid agencies including the UNHCR has denied extending financial assistance. “Those agencies informed us that it is beyond their criteria to support in this case”, Pyakurel said.

Parang Kush, a permanent resident of Surey Block under Sharpang district, is currently enrolled in Bachelor’s degree in Science and Technology at Mahendra Morang Adarsha Multiple Campus in Biratnagar.
