Dutch learn to cook on solar cookers used by exiled Bhutanese
The Netherlands, July 05: A group of Dutch schoolchildren visiting Amsterdam's Nemo Science Museum recently tried their hand at making traditional pancakes in solar cookers used by exiled Bhutanese.
The cookery class, which took place Wednesday, aimed at creating awareness about refugees and socio-eco problem they face.
It was offered as part of a photo exhibition on World Climate Day from seven camps in eastern Nepal.
The UN refugee agency, Stichting Vluchteling (Netherlands Refugee Foundation) and the Vajra Foundation, Nepal had teamed up to distribute these solar cookers to exiled Bhutanese in Nepal.
The project in Nepal is financed by the Dutch Postcode Lottery, which has been supporting UNHCR worldwide since 2002. Bhutan News Service
