Japan assists BBS TV for live coverage during polls
New Delhi, July 12: The Japan government has agreed for a grant assistance of around US$ 86,000 to enable Bhutan Broadcasting Corporation (BBS) TV for a broadband global area network system.
Agreement to this effect was signed by Yasukuni Enoki, Japanese envoy for Bhutan and Dago Tshering, Bhutanese envoy for Japan at a function in New Delhi on July 6.
The assistance would be use for upgradation of the BBS television for live reporting targeted for wider coverage on first election to take place by this year end and next year.
Japan is one of the major donors to Bhutan on technological field. Bhutan News Service
