Government to construct IT park

Thimphu, July 18: Government has said an IT park will be developed in Serbithang, Thimphu in the next few years, that will house informatics for business and social entities.

The government says it will open up doors for business opportunities to entrepreneurs in IT sector. The work has already begun.

“The ministry hopes to complete the park within a span of one to two years once the building work is on track,” Tenzin Choeda, Managing Director, Department of Information and Technology (DIT) said.

The World Bank sponsored project will occupy about five acres of land, which will be handed over to the private investors.

With the construction of IT part, Bhutan has been trying to materialize the employment and economic opportunities ICT sector provided globally. Bhutan News Service
